Automotive suppliers and metalworkers handle sharp-edged, heavy and oily parts. Added to this are logistics requirements: labelling, barcode, defined pack sizes. We develop the packaging to your specification, based on our big bag constructions.

Requirements we define before use
These points decide whether and how a big bag comes into question for your material. We collect them in conversation and record them in the specification.
Point load and cut resistance
Sharp-edged swarf and stamped parts load the fabric at points. Fabric class, inner liner or insert determine the service life.
Oil and cooling lubricant
Oil-containing material needs a liner or tight construction, if necessary a collecting tray.
Single-trip or multi-trip
Single-trip big bags are designed with safety factor 5:1, multi-trip big bags with 6:1. This determines reuse and inspection.
Logistics
Pack sizes, pallet pattern, stackability, handling by forklift.
Electrostatics
In areas with an ignition risk we examine dissipative versions case by case.

Points to note before use

- Agree samples and a load test together before ordering series quantities
Point load and cut resistance
Metal swarf, stamped parts and castings load the fabric at points. The standard items are designed for bulk material and waste, not for sharp-edged parts in series. How long a bag lasts depends on fabric class, inner liner or insert. Hence the rule: for sharp-edged material, do not use the standard item without consultation. We agree samples and a load test together before series quantities are ordered. Samples are free of charge.
Single-trip or multi-trip
Single-trip big bags are designed with safety factor 5:1, multi-trip big bags with 6:1. This determines how often a bag may be reused and what inspection is required for it. Our standard range is designed for single-trip use: BB90T, BB901 and BB902T have 1,000, 1,250 and 1,500 kg load capacity at safety factor 5:1 according to the data sheet. For multi-trip use we clarify the design with the manufacturer.
Checklist for the first enquiry
The more you tell us about the part and the process, the faster we can judge whether a standard item is enough or a specification is needed. Helpful details are:
- weight and dimensions of the individual part, sharp-edged or smooth, dry or oily,
- weight per bag you want to reach, and the type of filling (by hand, conveyor belt, chute),
- handling in the plant: forklift, crane, pallet truck, stacking height of the filled bags,
- annual requirement, call-off in part quantities and desired pallet pattern,
- labelling: company logo, part number, barcode, customer label,
- requirements of your customer or your quality assurance (standards, test certificates).
Oil, cooling lubricant and logistics
- Oil-containing material needs a liner or tight construction, if necessary a collecting tray.
- Pack sizes and pallet pattern: we deliver palletised, for example 500 pieces of BB90T per pallet. You agree the pallet pattern and the stackability of filled bags with us.
- Handling by forklift: always attach all four lifting loops; do not pierce the bag with a fork.
- Electrostatics: in areas with an ignition risk we examine dissipative versions case by case. A standard big bag corresponds to type A.
Special print, label and traceability
Logistics requires labelling: company logo, part number, barcode. The DS label on the bag carries notes on safe use; customer labels are possible. Printing is possible from 5 pallets per order and motif; we clarify the feasibility of part number and barcode case by case. In the printing advisor you place your motif on the item.
From requirement to specification
The Bag Configurator records dimensions, load capacity, fabric, bottom, liner, print and label in a specification laid out like our order specification sheets. You can print it or send it with the enquiry. We then clarify feasibility, minimum quantities and test certificates with the manufacturer.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use standard items for swarf or stamped parts?
Not without consultation. Sharp-edged parts load the fabric at points. We clarify fabric class, liner or insert and agree a load test before series quantities are ordered.
Are there multi-trip bags?
The standard range is designed for single-trip use (safety factor 5:1). Multi-trip big bags are designed for 6:1 and are clarified with the manufacturer as a specification.
Can I have a part number and barcode printed?
Yes, as special print. We clarify feasibility case by case; printing is possible from 5 pallets per order and motif.
