What matters when choosing
Measure the inlet and outlet
BBS004 has an inlet of approx. 45 × 50 cm and an outlet of approx. 40 × 50 cm. Check the dimensions against your filling and emptying station.
Empty in a controlled way
On BBS001 to BBS004 the outlet opens over the point of use: less dust, less effort than cutting open.
Basis for special solutions
For food, chemicals and the building materials industry, these bags are the construction basis on which we build specifications.
Inlet and outlet: fill from the top, empty downwards
A standard big bag is filled open at the top and cut open to empty. A special big bag instead has a swan neck: a tubular inlet at the top that you tie to the spout of the filling line, and, on four of the five items, an outlet at the bottom that you open over a silo, hopper or mixer. This saves cutting the bag, reduces dust and makes emptying controllable. BBS005 has only the inlet; the bottom is closed.

Spout dimensions in cm. We state only dimensions that the data sheet or specification clearly supports. Where that is not the case, it says “Dimensions on request” and we confirm diameter and height in writing before your order. Nominal volume = external dimensions without spouts.
How to choose the right item
- Measure the emptying station: the outlet must fit your hopper or silo spout. According to the data sheet, BBS004 has an outlet of approx. 40 × 50 cm; BBS003 40 × 50 cm according to the specification.
- Measure the filling line: the same applies to the inlet. For BBS004 it is approx. 45 × 50 cm, for BBS003 40 × 50 cm.
- Mind the height: BBS001, BBS004 and BBS005 are 200 cm high, BBS002 and BBS003 165 cm. Check the headroom at the filling and emptying station, including the spouts.
- Check the load capacity: BBS001, BBS002, BBS004 and BBS005 are stated with 1,250 kg load capacity and safety factor 5:1. For BBS003 we confirm the load capacity on request because the data sheet and specification differ.
- Fabric: uncoated, 180 g/m² according to the data sheet (for BBS005 the fabric weight is open). For damp or very dusty material we clarify a liner or coating as a custom-made product.
What the standard range does not cover
The special big bags are designated neither as food packaging nor as UN packaging for dangerous goods. For food and feed, chemicals and powders we work out a specification with you before an item is used. The points to be clarified are described on the industry pages Food, Chemicals and Building materials. Until a specification has been approved the rule is: do not fill food or dangerous goods into items of the standard range. For combustible dusts or solvents, the electrostatic type of the big bag (A to D under IEC 61340-4-4) also determines the permitted environment. A big bag without special equipment corresponds to type A.
Delivery, dimensions and printing
Special big bags are delivered palletised, with 170 to 220 pieces per pallet. Printing with a company logo or item number is possible from 5 pallets per order and motif, which is 850 to 1,100 pieces depending on the item. On the product pages you will find the dimension drawing with inlet and outlet spouts, the data sheet and, where available, the declaration of conformity.
