Standard range

Big Bags for Demolition and Hazardous-Substance Remediation

Demolition and remediation companies need packaging that closes tightly, is labelled and holds up on site. Our range covers asbestos and mineral wool waste with warning print, from the 70 cm flat bag to the container bag up to 7.5 metres long.

Marking from the factory

Asbestos warning print and mineral wool warning print are printed on. Container bags carry the asbestos warning print in seven languages.

The right design

Standard big bags for fragments and rubble, sheet bags for corrugated sheets and panels, container bags for large quantities in roll-off containers, flat bags for small quantities by hand.

Protection against moisture

According to the data sheet, coated fabrics protect against the ingress of moisture. This matters for outdoor storage.

Standard reference in the data sheet

The data sheets cite TRGS 519 (asbestos) and TRGS 521 (mineral wool) as references for demolition, remediation and maintenance work.

Sizes compared

In these sizes we carry several versions, which a separate page compares side by side: Big bag 90 × 90 × 110 cm, Big bag 135 × 135 × 130 cm, Container bag 650 × 240 × 115 cm, PP flat bag 70 × 110 cm, PP flat bag 140 × 220 cm.

Points to note before use

  • Clarify the acceptance conditions of the waste disposal company and landfill before ordering
  • Check the transport-law classification (ADR, GGVSEB): the items are not designated as UN packaging
  • Check fill limits with the Fill Limit Calculator, especially for mineral wool (low load capacity, large volume)
  • Expertise and risk assessment remain the responsibility of your company

Waste stream and regulations: what goes in which bag

Demolition and remediation produce several waste streams that differ in regulations, packaging and labelling. The table assigns them to our item groups. It does not replace your company's risk assessment.

The waste's route in four stations

For asbestos waste, TRGS 519 (version 28 February 2025) describes the whole route in no. 18. Four stations matter for packaging:

  1. Collecting and providing (no. 18.1): the waste goes into suitable, securely closable and labelled containers, kept separate from asbestos-free waste. No dust may be released when picking up. Our bags close with skirt, lid or closing strap, carry the warning print from the factory and have four lifting loops for moving.
  2. Labelling (no. 18.1 (4), (5)): the hazard symbol must be applied before the first filling; labelling follows TRGS 201 and REACH Annex XVII Appendix 7.
  3. Transporting (no. 18.2): the load must be secured so that no fibres are released. The dangerous-goods classification (ADR, GGVSEB) is checked by the waste disposal company or dangerous-goods safety adviser; our items are not designated as UN packaging.
  4. Depositing (no. 18.4): only in approved facilities; the containers must not be destroyed.

The detailed version with item tables and two examples of acceptance conditions is on the page Asbestos big bags and sacks.

Which design for which task

  • Big bags for fragments, rubble and coarse waste: 90 × 90 × 110 cm with 1,000 to 1,250 kg load capacity, 135 × 135 × 130 cm for larger quantities.
  • Sheet bags for corrugated sheets and stackable components: 260 or 320 cm long, 1,500 kg load capacity, load spread over two circumferential straps.
  • Container bags for large quantities in roll-off containers: 620 to 750 cm long, with lid and crane eye.
  • PP flat bags for small quantities by hand: 70 × 110 to 140 × 220 cm, optionally with PE liner.

What to clarify before ordering

Acceptance points set their own requirements. In its leaflet (as of 1/2025) the Stade district states a maximum of 750 kg per big bag; the Schweinfurt district (customer information of 20 July 2023) excludes container big bags. So ask your waste disposal company in advance about the type of packaging, maximum weight per bag and required labelling. We deliver by the pallet; how many pieces a pallet holds is given per item in the table and in the data sheet, for example 350 pieces of BBA90 or 3,200 pieces of PPFBA70 per pallet. From 5 pallets per order and motif you can add your company logo; the warning print remains visible.

Questions from practice

Is the warning print the labelling under TRGS 519?

TRGS 519 no. 18.1 (4), (5) requires the hazard symbol under Annex 2b and refers to TRGS 201 and REACH for labelling. The warning print from the factory carries a warning symbol and text in seven languages. Whether it meets the binding labelling requirements for your disposal route, clarify with your waste disposal company.

May bags be reused after filling?

Our standard items are designed for single-trip use (safety factor 5:1 according to the data sheet). How empty bags are to be treated is determined by your waste disposal company.

What load capacity do I need for mineral wool?

Old mineral wool weighs only about 0.10 t/m³ (guide value). Volume is therefore the limiting factor, not load capacity. The mineral wool bags have 150 to 250 kg load capacity. Check the fill height in the Fill Limit Calculator.
