Selection
What matters when choosing
Choose size by weight, not by volume
A 90 × 90 × 110 cm bag holds 0.9 m³ by calculation. Whether the load capacity is reached depends on the bulk density. Check with the Fill Limit Calculator.
With or without skirt
The skirt can be tied shut after filling and keeps dust in. Without a skirt the bag is open and quicker to fill.
Warning print to match the material
Asbestos warning print for asbestos-containing waste, mineral wool warning print for insulation materials. The mineral wool bags deliberately have a lower load capacity (150 to 250 kg).
Seven sizes, three prints: how the 17 big bags are organised
Our big bags come in 7 sizes. The table shows the nominal volume, the number of items and the load capacity for each size. The nominal volume is the product of the external dimensions; the actual fill volume is lower. The standard size 90 × 90 × 110 cm makes up most of the range: in this size the items differ in coating, skirt, load capacity, fabric weight, inner liner and print.

Reading the item numbers
The letters in the item number reveal the version. Items starting with BBA carry the asbestos warning print, BBM the mineral wool warning print; the others with BB are neutral. An appended PE indicates a polyethylene inner liner, as on BBA90PE (50 µm). The number usually gives the edge length (90, 125, 135); an appended 1 or 2, as on BB901 and BB902T, marks a further version of the same size, for example with a higher load capacity. The exact features of each item are in the catalogue table and on the product page, not in the number alone.
Neutral, asbestos or mineral wool
Neutral bags (8 items) are suitable for rubble, excavated material, gravel, sand and bulk material. Asbestos bags (4 items) carry the warning print in seven languages and form the packaging for asbestos waste as named in TRGS 519 no. 18. Mineral wool bags (5 items) deliberately have a low load capacity of 150 to 250 kg, because with old mineral wool volume is the limiting factor, not weight. Delivery, printing and documents
Big bags are delivered bundled and palletised, from 200 to 1,200 pieces per pallet depending on size. If you want a logo or text printed, you order from 5 pallets per order and motif; for BB90T that is 2,500 pieces. Each item has a product page with data sheet, dimension drawing with lifting loops and notes on the version; declarations of conformity are available for BBA90 and BBA901 (big bags) and BBA320 (sheet bag). Frequently asked questions about big bags
What load capacity do the big bags have?
Depending on the item, from 150 kg (mineral wool) to 1,500 kg. The load capacity is given in the table and in the item's data sheet. The safety factor is stated as 5:1.
When do I need coated big bags?
According to the data sheet, coated fabric protects against the ingress of moisture. It is the better choice for rain, damp material and outdoor storage.
Are the big bags approved for dangerous goods?
No. The items are not designated as UN packaging. We handle dangerous-goods requirements as a special solution.
