Big Bags for the Building Materials and Minerals Industry
Building materials plants fill bulk materials into big bags and empty them at the mixing plant or on site. For this we carry special big bags with inlet and, depending on the item, outlet, with up to 1,250 kg load capacity. We match fabric, liner and dimensions to your product.
Inlet and outlet (swan neck)
Filling from the top, controlled emptying at the bottom (BBS001 to BBS004). BBS005 has only the inlet. Spout dimensions: e.g. approx. 45 × 50 cm and approx. 40 × 50 cm on BBS004.
Load capacity 1,250 kg
BBS001, BBS002, BBS004 and BBS005 are stated with 1,250 kg load capacity and safety factor 5:1. For BBS003 we confirm the value on request.
Fabric 180 g/m²
Uncoated fabric with 180 g/m² according to the data sheet, other versions as a custom-made product.

Fill from the top, empty downwards
Building materials plants fill sand, gravel, cement, gypsum or granules into big bags and empty them at the mixing plant or on site. For this the special big bag has a swan-neck inlet at the top and, on 4 of 5 items, an outlet at the bottom. The inlet is tied to the spout of the filling line, the outlet is opened over a hopper or mixer. This saves cutting the bag and reduces dust.

Spout dimensions in cm. We state only dimensions that the data sheet or specification clearly supports. Where it says “Dimensions on request”, we confirm diameter and height in writing before your order.
Weight per material
The load capacity of 1,250 kg (BBS001, BBS002, BBS004, BBS005) limits the fill height for heavy materials. Example BBS004 with 100 × 100 × 200 cm: at 1.20 t/m³ (cement, loose) the bag would weigh 2,400 kg when full, and the load capacity allows 104 cm fill height. With plastic granules at 0.60 t/m³ it would be 1,200 kg when full, and the load capacity then plays no role. The calculation uses guide values; the measured bulk density of your material is decisive.

Maximum fill height when the load capacity is respected, with the filling weight below. Calculation as in the Fill Limit Calculator: nominal volume from the external dimensions, bulk density as a guide value. The measured bulk density of your material is what counts.
Dust, flowability, moisture
- Dust behaviour: fine materials can leak dust through seams and fabric. A liner or tighter fabric must be clarified as a custom-made product.
- Flowability: it determines how cleanly the outlet opens and empties.
- Damp goods: we clarify coated fabric or liner as a custom-made product. The standard fabric of the special big bags is uncoated.
- Plant dimensions: inlet and outlet must fit the filling and emptying station. Give us the spout dimensions of your plant.
Range plus specification
The special big bags are in the range. We match fabric, liner, spouts and dimensions to your product, hence the status “Range + specification”. They are designated neither as food packaging nor as UN packaging. For special requests, the Bag Configurator puts together a specification. Printing with a company logo is possible from 5 pallets per order and motif.
Frequently asked questions
How large are the inlet and outlet?
According to the data sheet, BBS004 has an inlet of approx. 45 × 50 cm and an outlet of approx. 40 × 50 cm, BBS003 40 × 50 cm each according to the specification. For BBS001, BBS002 and BBS005 we confirm the dimensions in writing before your order.
What load capacity does BBS003 have?
We confirm the load capacity on request because the data sheet and specification differ. BBS001, BBS002, BBS004 and BBS005 are stated with 1,250 kg and safety factor 5:1.
Are the special big bags available coated?
The standard fabric is uncoated. We clarify coated fabric or a liner as a custom-made product; the configurator turns it into a specification.
