Fill quantities and fill height of BBM90
BBM90 holds 0.89 m³ by calculation and carries 150 kg at safety factor 5:1. The table shows the weight of the full bag and the permitted fill height.

Quantity planning with BBM90
How many BBM90 do you need for a given quantity of material? The table uses the nominal volume of 0.89 m³ and 500 pieces per pallet. With sand (1.50 t/m³), the load capacity of 150 kg limits the fill quantity per bag to 0.10 m³.

Worked example for 100 m³ of material
How many BBM90 are needed depends on the density: with light material the volume of 0.89 m³ fills the bag; with heavy material the load capacity of 150 kg is reached earlier.
- Old mineral wool, loose (0.10 t/m³): 100 m³ weigh 10 t. One BBM90 takes 0.89 m³ or 90 kg; the volume of 0.89 m³ sets the limit. You need 113 pieces, which is 1 pallets.
- Wood chips (0.25 t/m³): 100 m³ weigh 25 t. One BBM90 takes 0.60 m³ or 150 kg; the load capacity of 150 kg sets the limit. You need 167 pieces, which is 1 pallets.
- Plastic granules (0.60 t/m³): 100 m³ weigh 60 t. One BBM90 takes 0.25 m³ or 150 kg; the load capacity of 150 kg sets the limit. You need 400 pieces, which is 1 pallets.
- Sand, dry (1.50 t/m³): 100 m³ weigh 150 t. One BBM90 takes 0.10 m³ or 150 kg; the load capacity of 150 kg sets the limit. You need 1,000 pieces, which is 2 pallets.
Handling of BBM90
- BBM90 has four lifting loops. With BBM90, always attach all four; crane and forklift are possible.
- The skirt of BBM90 is tied shut after filling. This keeps dust in.
- BBM90 is coated. According to the data sheet the fabric protects against the ingress of moisture and is suitable for rain and outdoor storage. UV light still weakens it.
- When filled, BBM90 weighs up to 150 kg. Lifting equipment, lifting accessories and ground must be rated for this.
- BBM90 carries the mineral wool warning print in three languages. Because of the low density of old mineral wool, volume limits the filling, not weight.
- The standard reference TRGS 521 in the data sheet of BBM90 is not an approval; the acceptance is clarified by your waste disposal company, see Asbestos and mineral wool.
- A pallet holds 500 pieces of BBM90 (10 bundles of 50 pieces). Store unused bags in their original packaging.

For BBM90 the data sheet gives one value unclearly or not at all: the fabric weight in g/m². It says “on request” there. We confirm the value in writing before your order. Plan lifting equipment, filling and number of pallets only with it, and ask via the enquiry form.
