Fill quantities and fill height of BBM70
BBM70 holds 0.34 m³ by calculation and carries 250 kg at safety factor 5:1. The table shows the weight of the full bag and the permitted fill height.

Quantity planning with BBM70
How many BBM70 do you need for a given quantity of material? The table uses the nominal volume of 0.34 m³ and 800 pieces per pallet. With sand (1.50 t/m³), the load capacity of 250 kg limits the fill quantity per bag to 0.17 m³.

Worked example for 100 m³ of material
How many BBM70 are needed depends on the density: with light material the volume of 0.34 m³ fills the bag; with heavy material the load capacity of 250 kg is reached earlier.
- Old mineral wool, loose (0.10 t/m³): 100 m³ weigh 10 t. One BBM70 takes 0.34 m³ or 35 kg; the volume of 0.34 m³ sets the limit. You need 292 pieces, which is 1 pallets.
- Wood chips (0.25 t/m³): 100 m³ weigh 25 t. One BBM70 takes 0.34 m³ or 85 kg; the volume of 0.34 m³ sets the limit. You need 292 pieces, which is 1 pallets.
- Plastic granules (0.60 t/m³): 100 m³ weigh 60 t. One BBM70 takes 0.34 m³ or 205 kg; the volume of 0.34 m³ sets the limit. You need 292 pieces, which is 1 pallets.
- Sand, dry (1.50 t/m³): 100 m³ weigh 150 t. One BBM70 takes 0.17 m³ or 250 kg; the load capacity of 250 kg sets the limit. You need 600 pieces, which is 1 pallets.
Handling of BBM70
- BBM70 has four lifting loops. With BBM70, always attach all four; crane and forklift are possible.
- The skirt of BBM70 is tied shut after filling. This keeps dust in.
- BBM70 is coated. According to the data sheet the fabric protects against the ingress of moisture and is suitable for rain and outdoor storage. UV light still weakens it.
- When filled, BBM70 weighs up to 250 kg. Lifting equipment, lifting accessories and ground must be rated for this.
- BBM70 carries the mineral wool warning print in three languages. Because of the low density of old mineral wool, volume limits the filling, not weight.
- The standard reference TRGS 521 in the data sheet of BBM70 is not an approval; the acceptance is clarified by your waste disposal company, see Asbestos and mineral wool.
- A pallet holds 800 pieces of BBM70 (8 bundles of 100 pieces). Store unused bags in their original packaging.
