Sheet sack BBA321: dimensions, load capacity and use
A sheet sack is another name for a sheet bag: a flat, long big bag for sheets and long components. BBA321 is the largest sheet sack in our range: 320 cm long, 125 cm wide and 45 cm high, that is 4.00 m² of base area and 1.80 m³ nominal volume. It is coated, carries the asbestos warning print and has a load capacity of 1,500 kg.
The four lifting loops sit on two circumferential straps and spread the load over the length. A pallet holds 240 pieces of BBA321, and printing starts at 5 pallets, that is 1,200 pieces. For stackable asbestos cement products, TRGS 519 no. 18.1 (2) names sheet big bags, stacked on pallets in dust-tight packaging. The weight of the parts adds up: it must not exceed 1,500 kg, and your acceptance point may require a lower maximum weight per bag.

Load-bearing capacity of BBA321
BBA321 holds 1.80 m³ by calculation and carries 1,500 kg at safety factor 5:1. This gives a mean density of 833 kg/m³ at full utilisation of volume and load capacity: material that is heavier does not fill the bag to the brim, and lighter material does not reach the load capacity. For sheets and profiles the weight of the parts counts, not a bulk density. Add up the weight of the parts and compare it with 1,500 kg before you fill BBA321.
Quantity planning with BBA321
How many BBA321 do you need for a given quantity of material? The table uses the nominal volume of 1.80 m³ and 240 pieces per pallet. With sand (1.50 t/m³), the load capacity of 1,500 kg limits the fill quantity per bag to 1.00 m³.

Handling of BBA321
- On BBA321 the four lifting loops lie on two circumferential straps. Attach all four at the same time; the straps spread the load over the length of 320 cm.
- BBA321 is coated. According to the data sheet the fabric protects against the ingress of moisture and is suitable for rain and outdoor storage. UV light still weakens it.
- When filled, BBA321 weighs up to 1,500 kg. Lifting equipment, lifting accessories and ground must be rated for this.
- BBA321 carries the asbestos warning print in seven languages. Leave it visible and clarify type of packaging and maximum weight with your acceptance point in advance.
- The standard reference TRGS 519 in the data sheet of BBA321 is not an approval; the acceptance is clarified by your waste disposal company, see Asbestos and mineral wool.
- A pallet holds 240 pieces of BBA321 (6 bundles of 40 pieces). Store unused bags in their original packaging.
